“Best practice is a coined expression or neologism used to designate a technique, method, process, activity, incentive, or reward which is regarded as more effective at delivering a particular outcome than any other technique, method, process, etc. when applied to a particular condition or circumstance. The idea is that with proper processes, checks and testing, a desired outcome can be delivered with fewer problems and unforeseen complications.” —Wikipedia

In today's world, we have to be extremely process driven to meet out business goals and objectives. Today we will explore one of the most important practices when when onboarding a Virtual Executive Assistant (VEA), setting up process. Luckily, our Virtual Executive Assistants are skilled at setting up processes for themselves and the clients they serve. So how do you get started?

Create a Process Map

  • Keep it simple, with details

  • Title each map with an adjective/verb (Examples include Calendar Management, Conference Follow-Up, and Sales Calls.)

  • Be detailed with each sub-process

  • Set it up around pain points and goals

  • Remember, you can always go back and make changes to improve a process

Process mapping helps create consistency, eliminates wastes, prevents missteps, helps create boundaries, increases value and innovation, and ultimately makes a huge difference in business development and efficiency.
